It rained yesterday. Non-stop, all day.

I feel about rain the same way I feel about NASCAR, it just makes me want to sleep and be lazy.

So I was feeling a tad sluggish when I picked Jen up for date night last night. However, I remembered that we were going to our favorite (and the most underrated) restaurant in Stillwater so my spirits were back at, well, break-even.

We went, it was delicious, we saw some friends, chatted for a while about snowboarding and TV shows and churches.

They left and we finished up. About that time our waiter came and told us that the friends we saw called in after getting in their car to go home and told the restaurant to put our meal on their debit card.

I was blown away. In fact, I was so ecstatic that I forgot to tip the poor guy. We had to drive back 20 minutes later so I could give him what he earned.

I was blown away because it would have been so much easier for them to chalk up the night as a success simply for having seen and talked with some friends (us). They went the extra mile though, they impressed me. And the best part is, I know that’s not why they did it.

I want friends who will do that. Unreal. I hate NASCAR.
